Overview
The 65th Tongyeong Hansan Battle Festival is one of Korea’s leading patriotic history and cultural festivals, commemorating the victory at the Battle of Hansan, one of the three great naval victories of the Imjin War, and honoring the spirit and leadership of Admiral Yi Sun-sin. Held throughout Tongyeong around the anniversary of the victory, on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month (August 14 in 2026), the festival features programs that bring this historic event to life, including a reenactment of the Battle of Hansan, the Parade of the Three Provinces Naval Commander, the departure cer
